This week we have an away meet this Wednesday, April 10 at Ramona. Release time is 1:45pm warm up at 2:50pm and meet start time is 4:30pm with diving at 3:45pm. We have our last dual meet of the season Friday at our home pool, Jim Stone. Release time at 2:00pm, warmup at 2:30pm, and meet start at 3:00pm.
So far we have had great communication, but please remember, swimmers, you must contact your coach everyday that you are not going to be at practice. If you are a club swimmer or water polo player, your club coach MUST be included in the text.
One of the goals of Classical Academy High School sports is to prepare our youth as they begin to enter the adult world. This means they must learn to advocate for themselves. Our team policy is that communication about attendance issues comes from the student athletes. Texts or email will suffice. Parents please do your best to refrain from communicating for your children

In addition to email this year, we are going to be using the GroupMe app for immediate updates and team information. These will be private groups, one for the swimmers and one for the parents. This is also where pictures from the season can be shared, so if you take pictures at the meets, please upload them so everyone can see them. We will use the photos for both sharing our successes with the school on CAHS social media and for a slide show at the end of the year banquet. Please download the GroupMe app from your phone's app store soon, as Coach Andrea will be creating the group
At our home meets we are following USA Swimming guidelines for behind the blocks protocol. Only swimmers/timers and coaches in this area. No photography will be allowed behind the blocks at all. Also our team area is for athletes and coaches only.
Team policy is that for home meets the team stays for the entire meet and helps put the pool back to the standard configuration. We lease the pool from the city and as good guests we are responsible for this. When the whole team helps in this task, it can be completed in a few minutes. When athletes leave early it makes the breakdown time for the athletes remaining longer. There can be a fair amount of satisfaction learned from contributing to the greater good of the team. Team bonding does occur during this type of activity of putting the needs of the whole before oneself. Many hands make for light work for all.
The following segment is from the school attendance department.
Parents of Athletes:
Please make sure that your student checks in with the teacher whose class they will be missing on the day of their game. Any athlete not checking in will be marked with an Unexcused Absence and our system will call at 4pm to let you know. If the dismissal falls between class period times, have your student stop by the attendance desk and check in with Mrs. Little. If you have any questions feel free to contact Marissa at her direct line 760-520-6750.
